The good and the bad.

Our garden is going crazy - it is just lovely! Isn't it amazing how you can just plant seeds and in a few weeks you have food to eat?! My approach to gardening is "plant it and it will grow". Most of the time that works out wonderfully!

Green beans! Here is my favorite way to cook them. Do not eat the entire batch yourself, though. Trust me on that one.
Scallions and lettuce and marigolds, oh my!
Who eats this much lettuce? Or scallions? What was I thinking?!
One strawberry.
In the future I think I will plant at least 30 plants :) Three just isn't cutting it.
Cantaloupe!
Yellow squash!
You can make this into a lovely bread! We tend to eat it sauteed in butter with garlic. Yum-o!
Zucchini.
Another 'what was I thinking' moment. I never, ever use parsley. WHY did I plant so much? Ditto on the chives.
The good news about all our basil, though, is that Moses just can't get enough pesto. He loves the stuff!
Our tomato plants are not doing a thing. They have been flowering for weeks and not a single tomato!
This poor squash plant as a cold. Or a fungus. Or something.
Somehow this plant looks like it's doing okay in this picture. Trust me, it's not.

So there ya have it! Our garden is growing and we are loving it!

Hayes Happenings

Sarah is sleeping through the night - Waaa hoooo!
We bought a slip and slide..SO much fun.
As a result, Moses got his first sunburn this weekend - ouch.
Miah went camping this weekend leaving me alone with both kiddos overnight for the first time. We survived.
For all you P-Dub followers.. you know how she cooks fancy meals for herself with Marlboro man is gone? I had wine and an Oreo dessert. Hmmmm.
Moses has entered the age of fit throwing. Fun!
I think Moses has 86'd his bottle habit - finally! yay!!
The garden is going crazy! I'm loving it.
I've discovered the only thing I really love about cloth diapers is saving money. Poo is poo.

Hayes Happenings

Here is the video, as requested!
This post may be a bit boring for anyone other than family!
My babies are growing too darn fast. Moses has started talking.. constantly.. not saying much of anything I can understand but that doesn't stop him. He and Jeremiah work on learning colors every evening, and it has been so fun to watch him get it. My favorite is "wewwow". He says "bye" and "please" and "piano" and "no" (those are just the newer words). When we get in the car and head towards town he always thinks we are going to Grandma's house and says "Mmmmaa" rather excitedly - this boy loves his Grandma.
Sarah is growing, growing. She's in her 3 month clothes now! It made me sad to put away everything she has outgrown - two boxes full of clothes! She has also become so chatty. She smiles and coos quite a bit. Sometimes she even refuses to eat and just wants to sit and talk with me. She's eating well and weighs over 11 pounds now.
Jeremiah is working like crazy. He's still building the library in Shiprock and working on several jobs in Bloomfield. We're so blessed that he has such a wonderful job - the construction business isn't exactly booming right now! Thank you, Lord!
And as for me - I'm trying to run and work out again. Thanks to my wonderful mil I am able to do so several times a week. I'm excited to someday be able to wear my old clothes again. Man, it sure does go slower the second time around!
We're having such a wonderful summer. The garden is going crazy - the lettuce, herbs and squash are wonderful. The beans and scallions are almost ready and our strawberries just started producing!
Thank you, Lord, for these sweet lazy days of summer...although as a mama of two under two.. I sure don't feel lazy :)
