Thanksgiving!

We had a lovely Thanksgiving! We drove up to Albuquerque on Wednesday and spent Thanksgiving at my godparents home in Corrales - we had a lovely time! We got to soak up some family time on Friday before heading back on Saturday.
I'm wondering, is traveling with kids tough on anyone else? Moses was up every hour each night! At home he sleeps through the night no problem, but when we travel it is a whole other story. We bring the blankets and toys that are in his crib at home and his noise maker, but nothing works! Do you all have any tricks up your sleeve to make the nights easier when you travel? I need some pointers!
Despite the lack of sleep, Moses had a great time hanging out with the family we don't get to see nearly enough of. We miss you all already!
Moses can sniff out grandma's! He loooves Maris! He thinks she came all the way from England just to visit with him...
Checking out the fountain with Jayme.
The whole crew! Moses got cut out of the photo :(
Where's my turkey and mashed potatoes?!
Moses sleeping on Nana. He was not upside down :)
Moses 'mooing' with Auntie B...
Really, Auntie B? You're really going to take me to Disneyland?
We hope you all had a lovely time with family and friends. We are all so blessed!

Lillian Genesis

Lilli reading the comics at Starbucks...
Lilli, sweet Lilli! My dear friend, Brittany Mirabal, has the sweetest little girl. Lil is Shepherd's big sis, do you remember Shepherd? He was born 9 days before Moses, and is destined to be Mo's BFF, and neighbor actually. We're building our house right across the street from these lovely folks. I would like to take some time today to share some "Lilli-ism's". The adults in her life should probably not mimic the things she says, but after I share some of these silly sayings I think you'll agree it's a lot more fun to be in her world!
Izzawishesss... as in this is delicious!
Aw, izza yowky mess!... Usually in reference to my house :)
Hey, beb, wuzz that?... She calls everyone babe. Hilarious.
Hi Mosis!!... She could be speaking to Jeremiah, myself, or Moses. She recently started calling us all "Susin". Fine by me :)
Awwww Shhhhepi!... This one cracks me up! Shep is probably fussing.
Izza Mosis house??.. When we get to Target.. we spend a lot of time at Target!

More to come!

16 weeks... or 17

I had a check up with my midwife yesterday. I was really looking forward to hearing the heartbeat and having Mary Louise tell me the baby is doing great. I have been concerned this go around because it seem like I am having a harder time taking care of myself (eating right, exercising, and whatnot) this pregnancy. I have also been concerned about my weight gain (10 pounds, even with all the throwing up! How did that happen?! That's how it goes when you keep down pizza but throw up apples :), but Mary Louise says I'm doing just fine and not to worry - which I am happy to do! The heartbeat was great, and Moses was great entertainment. Mary Louise said I am due April 30, according to her estimates, but seeing how Moses was 9 days "late" they may decide to move my due date back into May. That will be decided after my ultrasound on December 15! I really love all three of the midwives for different reasons. Mary Louise has a way of setting me at ease, she has a confidence that comes from delivering so many babies, I really trust her.
I have every intention of getting a picture of my belly up this weekend!
Be blessed!

This and that.

How many mom's have thought, "Hmm, play with this, it makes noise." Just to come back and have it all over the floor? Anyone, anyone?
I love watching this kid eat spaghetti!
Cleaning it up.. not so much.
How cute is this??
Mo is all over the place and even pulling himself up to standing. I think he will be walking in no time! He is also working on getting his two top teeth, and taking it like a champ.
As for the house, the last of our appliances go in today! I am so thrilled about this step. The painters were rescheduled for later in the week and I am hoping they will be done by Friday - if they are then we are entirely done with having sub-contractors come in! We passed our electrical inspection and we are just waiting on the gas company. The sooner the better, we are having to get creative so our pipes don't freeze - it has been cold here! We hope to find out next Tuesday when they will get the work done.
Also, we bought all of our living room furniture and it should be moved in this weekend! I have even found a toddler bed for Moses that I hope to pick up this weekend. I want to start transitioning him out of the crib before the baby comes so I don't have to buy another crib.
Jeremiah's brother and his wife are coming in this weekend and we are excited to see them again and for Moses to meet his Uncle Zac and Aunt Angela!
Hope you all are having a fabulous week!

The house, the house, OH the house.

This post has been modified to help those iphone viewers out there read it. Let me know if it helps!!
We are so, so close to being done. Every week something comes up that postpones our move in date just a little bit. Whether it be a snow storm up north that delays the shipment of our dryer or a hold up with the gas company that could delay our move in date at much as 6 weeks, each day holds something new and we are forced to be patient! After all, we can't move into a house without heat in the middle of November with an 11 month old. Here is what the next few days hold:
Today/Saturday: the electrician finishes up and Jeremiah works on fixing our neighbors rocks that were "disturbed" during building
Sunday: Jeremiah tackles what he calls the "honey-do list".. although "honey" only put one of the bazillion tasks on that list :)
Monday: the painters come and we have an electrical inspection; we should find out when the gas company can run the yard line - we're crossing our fingers that it won't be in 6 weeks!
Tuesday: the painters finish up
Wednesday: fridge, washer and dryer are delivered and installed (3+ weeks behind schedule)
The good news is that the county said we can begin to move things in before we get our certificate of occupancy. I hope to get things cleaned up and begin things like filling the linen closets and putting glasses and plates away in the cabinets. Jeremiah wants to organize the garage and get his work space functional. He hopes to make our dining room table and is anxious to get going. Kat has agreed to make our shades for the bedrooms (I offered to help, but who am I kidding, sewing and I aren't exactly BFF's), and I am busy looking for furniture to fill our space! We are so close!

Your Daily Mo

Some may say that he could hurt himself, break something, or some other completely logical argument for why Moses shouldn't play with this piece of pvc, but I think he looks like he is mastering his ninja skills. That and it keeps him occupied for at least 5 minutes.

A little bit of everything.

Look at our little man..
Eating fried rice, off of chopsticks, really?
I am amazed at how quickly Moses is growing up. Not only does he want to eat "big boy" food, but he can give me high five! It is fun to watch him develop and become more and more independent. Oddly enough, though, he has also become such a cuddle bug. He has never been much of cuddler, but lately he is content to just sit in my lap or lay on my lap and let me rub his back. I think he is pretty sweet.
And this last week I started my second trimester! I had every intention of taking a picture of my growing belly, but life around here has been a bit crazy. The Ohst's left on Saturday and Jeremiah and I have been figuring out what else needs to be done on the house so we can get moved in as soon as possible. Obviously, we did not get moved in this weekend. We need two more inspections before we can get our certificate of occupancy. One of those happens today and the other will happen as soon as the electrician finishes up. We are hoping to move in this weekend, but if that doesn't happen we will be scrambling to get moved in next week. We have to be moved in by next weekend because family is coming to visit! Ahh! No pressure, right? Moses and I have to camp out at the house today while we wait for the inspector to show up so I will try to get some pictures up!

Fun in the sun!

The weather here was wonderful today so Moses and I took the chance to get some fresh air. He loved playing in the leaves, and I thought he was pretty cute! Enjoy!

We are so close to being done!

Get ready for this... the house could potentially be DONE this week! If the inspections line up we could even start moving in next week! Whoa! This week we have some appliances to install, some shelving to put in, the carpet goes into the bedrooms and the house will have it's final coat of paint... and approximately a million other little things. We are so, so close! Of course, this also means that our dear friends, the Ohst's, will be heading back to Hawaii soon. We are so grateful for all they did to help get the house ready and we will be so very sad to see them go.

Mo's bathroom, just needing the shelving in the linen closet, a mirror and the lighting to be installed.
And.. the closet doors! I am so grateful that these aren't mirrored :) They will be getting a fresh coat of white paint.
Prepping our patios, sidewalks and driveway.
Prepped driveway.
Beautiful!
Here is to a productive week!

Your Daily Mo.

When did this happen?! He is growing up too fast!
