The nursery is done!

The nursery is done! Well.. it has been done for weeks.. and I am just so grateful. I just need to wash the little sweeties clothes and put them away.. and find a place for the rocking chair. I'm pleased with the way it all came together! It is mostly Mo's old furniture and bedding. Yes.. the walls are still blue. If we have a little lady she is just going to have to deal with it until Mama works up the motivation to paint!
Pretty cute, huh?!

I have a feeling I am going to be spending a lot of time sleeping in this bed!

In an attempt to keep Moses from crawling up the bed, Miah taped the cardboard on the ladder. So far it's working!

And just for kicks.. here I am at 29.5 weeks. I'm measuring 2.5 weeks ahead. Did you hear that, little one? Please don't make me wait until August!!

Hayes Happenings

Somehow I am surrounded by sickies and have managed to stay healthy. While I am grateful for that, I'm also ready for Moses and Jeremiah to get well. Moses has a lingering cough that keeps him up half the night and just as Jeremiah was getting well he now has something else. I'm just hoping it's not strep throat and that Moses and I manage to not get it. I would like to send a memo out to humanity: If you are ill, stay home. Thank you!
On to happier news: THE NURSERY IS DONE! Waa hoo! And, go figure, the camera has bit the dust. These pictures, taken with my phone, will have to do.
Here are those sweet flowers I told you all about. We painted them pink and cream and I think they turned out lovely!
We searched high and low for a side table and settled on this one from Target. It was the color of Pepto Bismol so Jeremiah was nice enough to paint it for me.
Sigh, so so cute!
And her name, hanging right over the sweet changing table that belonged to my dad.
This is odd, Moses was born the day before my dad died and this sweet little lady is due the day after his birthday.
We have named the little miss Sarah Elizabeth Hayes. We just love it and it feels like it is what her name is supposed to be. BUT! If we see her and feel like it just doesn't fit we aren't afraid to change it!
Less than SIX WEEKS!! The end of this pregnancy is much more uncomfortable than round one and the "3am dates" have returned. While I would rather have a full nights sleep, no feet in my ribs and be able to waddle around pain free.. it's really not that bad. All part of being a mama, right?! And in just a few short weeks I will have to share this little lady, right now I've got her all to myself :)

At the end of the day...

Well...the glider and ottoman were out of stock and the store I was going to buy the changing table from was closed. Whatcha gonna do.
I did get the room cleared and we got the window treatment done. Not too bad for a Sunday.

Nursery Update!

Today we are getting serious about the nursery! My mother-in-law, Kat, is finishing up the Roman shades. We decided on a buttery yellow stripe, much like the hamper. She has also finished the fabric that we will drape from the top of the window. It is white with small flowers...not too girly I can assure you. We are then headed over to Baby and Me to see about a changing table/dresser and then to Target to see about a glider. I also need to find a side table to go next to the glider for a cute lamp we found. I envision many happy, sleepy moment in this glider with our sweet little guy. As you can see from the photo I will have to take everything out and then start taking it back in, little by little. Hopefully finding a permanent place for it.
As an update on the shower, it was beautiful. I forgot my camera, of course, but Kristen came through (she photographed my wedding) and I just need to get the pictures from her. I had such a lovely time visiting with the sweet ladies that came. Mrs. Vicki, as always, out did herself and everything was lovely. We ate lunch, which was much like going to tea at the St. James, drank a ton of tea, played a few games and opened gifts. As an extra blessing, Candice gave me her high chair (thank you!), so that is one more thing to cross of the list. Another blessing we received was through Meg Wallace, who has given me her breast pump motor (don't worry, I have all new attachments, it is quite safe) and also her jogging stroller! What a blessing!!
I am so grateful for everything that the people in our lives have done for us. Truly, my cup overflows.
