House update.

I have really been lacking on the house updates, I can hardly believe that something so big could be so low on my radar right now!
Our flooring is going in! Here is the laminate flooring in the living room and dining room area!
Our garage door.. and our trash.
Entry way tile and the guys hanging out.
Kitchen tile!
Mo's blue bedroom!
My yellow bathroom. I am in love with this color.
Things are happening faster than I can update! Right now driving to Aztec with Moses feels impossible most days, but it is always thrilling to walk through and see it coming together!
We are headed out of town on Friday for a week for much needed family get away, when we get back things will really start to happen! We should be moving in by early November!

Another baby update.

I spoke with one of the midwives today and she thinks that we do need to do another ultrasound. On one hand she said that she isn't too concerned but she was very insistent that we do a follow up ultrasound before my appointment on October 12th.
Hope you all are having a happy Wednesday.

Mo's first haircut!

While in Albuquerque last week Moses, Nana and I made a trip to see Auntie Bri for his first haircut!
The before picture. Please excuse the woman with the double chin.
Not loving it, but hanging in there...
...comb over...
Looking good!

Kissing the baby in the mirror!
What a little stud!
Thanks, Auntie Bri!

Baby #2 Update.

I apologize for this photo, I don't have a scanner!!

While in Albuquerque last week (pictures to come!) I went to Carenet for a pregnancy test and ultrasound. I am 8 weeks pregnant and due on May 10th, my mom's birthday! I don't know if you can tell from the fuzzy ultrasound photo, but the baby is the on the top and there is a mass right below him/her. The woman that was doing the ultrasound said she had never seen anything like it. She said it could be that I was carrying twins and one didn't make it, it could be a vascular mass.. but the bottom line is that she doesn't know. I sent the info to my midwife and she said the same thing. As long as there is no bleeding/cramping they are not concerned. I have struggled with how I feel about this, but the bottom line is that could be nothing and I don't want to grieve the potential loss of a child unless I know for sure that is what happened. Right now we are rejoicing in our one healthy little peanut.
And as for the morning sickness.. it is still going strong. I am still taking Unisome and B6, and I have added Zofran. The combo is pretty good, but most days are just miserable. Right now it is 8pm and I am still in my pajama's. I spend the day on the couch or sleeping while Moses sleeps. Honestly, I have a hard time keeping a good attitude since so far it has been just as bad as it was with Mo and that lasted 6 months. 4 more months of this?! Yikes! However, I must say that I am so grateful to have the Ohst's here, Kat who comes and helps with Moses and such a wonderful husband. They have been so helpful and I am very, very grateful!
Update:
A doctor that reviews ultrasounds for Carenet recommended that I see my midwife asap to evaluate what she called "a placental mass". I will let you all know if my midwife suggests that we do anything more.

What to do?

Morning sickness. Bleh. Yuck. I thought I was going to be in the clear this go round. Not so much. After a weekend spent on the couch and each day worse than the one before I have realized that I have to go back on the Unisome and vitamin B6 if I am going to function at all. So far I am only down a few pounds and have been able to keep down some toast and, of all things, macaroni and cheese, so I think I had better get on the medicine as soon as possible.
AND! Would you look at this guy? We have a mobile creature on our hands! He is trying so hard to crawl, but even though he can't yet he is still all over the place! I think I may have to get out the pack and play on the rough days.
Some of my main concerns are things like how am I going to get the groceries? Leave the house? Do things with Moses? We will soon be adding two more people to this house with only ONE bathroom. What will I do, get sick outside if the bathroom is in use? We have our dear friends arriving today! I know it will all work out and that the important things will get done. I'm just hoping the medicine kicks in quickly and that it works like a charm!

Almost done.. with this phase.

The ceilings have the texture and the walls are next! The walls will have a basic orange peel texture.
A back view of the house! Our stucco is on!
Isn't it pretty?

Tuna Casserole.

My husband loves tuna. Loves. More specifically Tuna Helper and tuna casserole. He loves them so much that once a week we have a "help yourself night" so that he can make and eat it. I'm not so much a fan so this works out great! I don't have to cook and Miah gets to eat what he loves! Jeremiah was eating his leftovers for lunch the next day and Moses really wanted some. I couldn't believe how much he loved it - like father like son!
Mmmm...
He's figuring out how to eat the noodles :)

Update!

Moses isn't crawling yet, but he is trying to scoot. It works better in the kitchen and in the tub :)
AND he now has one tooth poking through and two more just about to! And of course there is the "Daily Mo" from today where Mo is pulling up on the crib. What is happening here?!
And as far as #2 goes I won't have a lot to report until I see the midwife on October 12. That seems like an eternity to me! I am guessing my due date is towards the end of April, maybe early May, but I just can't say for sure. I would love to get an ultrasound, but we would have to meet our $500 deductible to do that. If my due date is when I think it is that would put our 20 week ultrasound at the begining of January, so we will have to meet our deductible AGAIN. So, needless to say, no ultrasound for me :( The morning sickness is getting worse everyday. It isn't like it was with #1, let's hope it stays that way!
AND David and Brenda get here on Sunday! Woo hoo!
Hope you all have a happy weekend!

Keepin' it real.

Sweet little boy, cutting 3 teeth, up all night. Check. First trimester fatigue and nausea. Check. Don't get me wrong - we're all happy as can be, but I thought you all would get a kick of what the house looks like as a result!
Laundry!
Sitting on the counter, waiting to be cleaned. I may just toss it out instead.
Where Moses played while I swept the kitchen.
My personal favorite.
Hope you are all having a wonderful Thursday!

More house photos!

All the drywall is up! Now just tape, mud and texture! I am so excited for this next phase.
Here is the back view of the house.
This is where a desk will be in the kitchen. I think it's kinda weird, but maybe it will prove to be very functional. I just hope it doesn't become a collection place. I despise messes!
Here is the entry way. The front door is to the left. I really like the edges on the walls. Different.
The kitchen! The pantry is through that door.
The living room! We changed out sliding glass doors for French doors and I am so glad we did!
Less than a week until David and Brenda are here! Then the fun begins!

More house photos!

It's amazing what can happen in a day!
Stucco! This has to sit for 7 days and then they can put on the color!
Here is what would have been our guest room, but is now going to be another NURSERY!
Our kitchen island!
This week the guys finish putting up the drywall, then they will mud, tape and texture! THEN the fun stuff begins!

A quick house update!

I can hardly believe how fast things are coming! It's amazing! The stucco should be complete this weekend and the drywall gets started on Saturday! Our sweet friends, David and Brenda Ohst (Papa and Auntie Pretty), are flying out from the tiny island of Molokai to stay with us for a month or so and help us finish things up. We are SO THRILLED to have them! David is an amazing finish carpenter, we are so blessed to have them help us.
Here is a front view of the house. Getting ready for that stucco!
The bathroom wall! After I got there we decided to switch it around so the door is closer to the wall/window on the right.
Insulation is in!!
And my sweet husband, working away. I am so grateful for how hard he has worked to get this house done quickly.
I am headed out there with Jeremiah this afternoon to help with clean up, getting us all ready for drywall. It may only be sweeping and vacuuming, but I am so glad I get to DO something to help! I guess it is preparation for the days to come :)

Telling Jeremiah.

I had always envisioned finding out I was pregnant and doing something creative to tell Jeremiah. When I found out I was pregnant with Moses, however, Jeremiah was standing right next to me as we waited for the result. That was wonderful and I wouldn't trade the memory for anything. This time around I was so shocked I just didn't know what to do. I reached for my phone to call him. This is the the conversation went:
J: Hey sweetie!
S: Hi. Are you at work yet?
J: Yep, just got here.
Long pause.
S: Are you coming home for lunch?
J: I'm going to do my best.
Long pause.
J: Is everything okay?
S: Yes. I will talk to you this afternoon, then.
J: Suuu-saaan
Long pause.
S: Well, um, I'm pregnant.
J: I'll be right there.
Creative, right?
About 10 minutes later he came home picked me up and swung me around in circles. He was thrilled. He showed none of the doubt or worry I was feeling. It was exactly what I needed. We sat down and prayed together and blessed this sweet little life. What a wonderful man I married! Just what I need, when I need it.
