Projects. 10 weeks and counting!

I don't know if I would call this nesting. I think it is more like I have 10 more weeks of knowing what to expect and then life changes for a few months. Here are a few things that are on my radar before Baby Girl makes her debut.
Here is the exercise room. In a perfect world I could fit a futon in here so guests wouldn't need to sleep on the couch. Doesn't look like there is room for one, huh?

Prepare thyself.
Here is Baby Girl's room. This buffet needs to be painted (not to mention, cleaned off!), and then it will be re-purposed as a changing table.
Sigh, here is the rest of her room. I've got my work cut out for me, huh?!
AND! Our backyard! I'm looking forward to this project. This spring we are going to get on the landscaping. I'm hoping to keep the front yard low key and turn the backyard into a veggie growing paradise!
This will be a little place for flowers! Unless I think we need strawberries.. they would have to go here, it's the shadiest spot.
I am putting in raised beds this year. I don't think it will be a permanent thing, but until we install an irrigation system raised beds it will be!
10 weeks should be enough time, right?!

Thank you Hobby Lobby!

Right now my windows are covered with blankets or sheets. Not kidding. My wonderful mother-in-law is making us black out shades to remedy our situation and I am so, so grateful. Now I am on the hunt for fabric. Once a month Joanne's fabric sends out a 40% off coupon.. but I have exhausted those resources and my eyes are now on Hobby Lobby. Well.. this week you can print off a 40% off coupon (usually 25%) from their website. Lucky for me, the fabric I want for Moses' room is there and tomorrow I am going to go snatch some up! If you're in need of anything, HERE is where you can print off the coupon!

29 Weeks!

I am not a huge fan of pictures.. while pregnant.. but here ya go, eat your heart out! Barefoot and pregnant, go figure!
I had another ultrasound today and everything is looking fabulous. Thankfully the placenta moved far away from the danger zone so there is no need to talk about a c-section. Hallelujah. Right now Baby Girl is 2lbs 12oz and looking good.. although from the size of my belly you'd think she was twice that size! Time is flying, she will be here before we know it!

Question.. how is it even possible that this child is in the 20th percentile for weight?? Sorry, doc, I just don't think so!! Ha!

Hello Third Trimester!

Can you believe it?! This pregnancy is flying by! I can hardly believe that in 3 short months we will be welcoming our sweet little girl into this world - it will be here before we know it. In many ways it is a blessing that the first half of pregnancy is so rough for me. I think it makes these last months so much sweeter. I relish all these baby movements and now that I know what it is like to have a newborn I am relishing my sleep, too! And while I do still get sick every now and again.. Moses thinks it's hilarious. He follows me everywhere.. so if I need to get sick it's not long until he is in the bathroom too - CRACKING UP. Yep, if Mom is heaving Moses is laughing. How wrong is that?!
I have been busy prepping this place - our garage is organized, the pantry has been rearranged and we have cleared out the nursery in preparation for decorating. Now I just need to actually decorate (and furnish!) her room and stock up the freezer and I think we will be as ready as we can possibly be.
I have also been talking with Moses about his little sister.. but he so doesn't get it. I'll keep trying!
A baby, Mama? But I am your baby!

Month of Meals.. Round Two!

Last month's meal planning turned out to be such a hit! One shopping trip and 4.5 hours of cooking (thanks to all the help from my mother-in-law!) equaled 31 days of meal planned bliss. Really, it made my life so much easier! Now, here comes round two! I am changing it up a bit this month because I wanted some healthier options. The casseroles were delicious, but not very easy on my already expanding waist line! I had a few meals left over from last month, so I threw them into the mix, and my mother in law gave us some steaks and chicken breasts she bought. Here is what this month looks like, and where possible I linked the recipe!
2-1 Baked potato soup (Jeremiah's favorite - made with turkey bacon!) served with cheese and sour cream, and this bread (made in a loaf pan, not braided).
2-2 Breakfast for dinner
2-3 Salmon, sweet potatoes and veggies
2-4 Help yourself night
2-5 to 2-7 Weekend getaway with Jeremiah!!
