Input please!

I am the kind of gal that needs input when I make decisions. I sometimes wish it wasn't so, but it is what it is.
The house is completely framed. Amazing. This week they are putting in our AC and we will be getting a roof in no time at all. Because the entire house is framed we have a decision to make about our bathroom.
Please look at the master bedroom. The toilet and shower area are enclosed and the sinks are not. The shower area is rather small.. so the question is: Do we enclose the entire bathroom area? Do we enclose the sink area and and have a door into the sinks and a door into the toilet/shower area? Would that be too boxy? What do you all think??

DEFINITELY enclose the sinks b/c otherwise it will feel like a hotel...if you don't decide to do doors, you could always hang two floor to ceiling curtains and put tie backs that so they split in the middle. And my thought is leave the door frame minus the door to the toilet/bath...it will give it a more open feel.

one more thing...there is a window right there by the sinks...put in two...one by the sinks and move the larger window into the bedroom space to define it as two distinct spaces.

Man, I've never had to make decision like this... but I can imagine that it would be stressful! So, here is my opinion... either leave the sink area open, leaving the door on the toilet/shower area OR enclose the entire bathroom area with no door between the toilet/shower area. I personally like the second option better, only because I sleep later then Kyle and I would like for him to be able to get ready without the big lights on in our room.

OK.... next question! :)

Thanks for you input, ladies! Jeremiah gets up before me, too, Sherah so I think enclosing would be a good idea. I like the idea of curtains there Stacey. I'll talk to Miah about it tonight!

Hi Susan...My name is LuAnn...I am 53yrs old and live in northern california...Don't panic i'm not a weido!...I am a follower of your family blog and until now have hesitated to write you...I thought maybe my thoughts might help...This is a big decision, one that i have had to decide several times!...The door enclosing the toilet and bath is very nice because it gives privacy, yet another person can still use the sink area when someone else is in the bath/toilet...a wall enclosing the sinks will give a closed-in feel when you are standing at the sinks unless there is enough room to bring it out...the two windows idea is nice...remember not to cut too much of your usable wall space down in the bedroom...I hope this was of some help to you!...May God continue to bring you and your wonderful family Love and Peace...your vege garden is great by the way!....Sincerely LuAnn

I would extend the wall between the master bedroom and the bathroom and either leave a door-sized opening to the sinks without a door, or put a door there and get rid of the one between the sinks and the toilet/shower area. I think two doors would be too much.

Hey guys! I had this problem in my house. My bathroom was open and I had a window over my tub. The sun would rise and shine right on my face in the morning, and I am not a morning person. I didn’t even have a door to separate the toilet or shower though, so if I had company, I would either use the spare bathroom or close my bedroom doors to use the restroom. =(
I tried to hang a curtain in the middle and had some tie backs...It wasn't good enough. I really, really disliked that the bathroom was open to my bedroom. What if you build a diagonal wall to close off the sinks so the 2nd window is in the sink area? I think that would look really nice and give your room some interesting shapes, open up the bathroom a little, etc? Are you putting your bed on the West wall?
Love ya,
Sara
