Thank you Keek!

40 Week Appointment!

I have gained about 30 pounds. I can live with that.
While I was weighing myself, Moses decided to splish splash IN THE TOILET. Gross.
Mary Louise thinks the little lady is, well, little. Glory be.
I am at 1-2 cm and my cervix really needs to get crackin.
In light of the above, Mary Louise thinks I will still be pregnant in a week.
In the event that I am still with child next week I am scheduled for a non stress test on May 7th.

I'm sure you can all breath a lot easier knowing the above information.

Passover

This week we celebrated Passover. I know that the rest of the world celebrated Passover last month (and we did , too) but for various reasons (I will spare you, but it has to do with when the month of Aviv begins..) we celebrated our official seder on Tuesday. For about a million reasons I haven't touched on this before, but a few years ago Jeremiah and I felt led to not celebrate Easter and Christmas, but rather celebrate the "feast days". We have learned so much about who God is, who is Son is, and who we are in Christ. It's been an amazing journey!
Our seder plate...
Our table, all ready to go...
Now let's just pretend I'm on it and that there are also pictures of all of us celebrating!

I made The Pioneer Woman's passover brisket and it was amazing! You can hop on over to Chow City to find out more about that!
I will be back later to let you all know what the midwife says!!

Hobbies and such.

I am now two days away from my due date. There is something so comforting about that. I'm seeming to chill out a little bit. The little miss will be here soon enough! Until then Jeremiah and I are working hard on the yard. Correction, Jeremiah is working hard and I'm cheering from the sidelines. Turns out digging post holes and lifting 8ft sections of fencing isn't recommended while 9 months pregnant. Good thing my husband is such a stud.
Here is an update on the sprouts. The "salsa garden" is doing wonderfully, but the tomato plants are struggling. I think I should have started them earlier. Hmm... oh, and I probably shouldn't have left the container on top of the fridge.. and I should have remembered to water them. Other than that I have been a good mama to my sprouts...
My husband mixing concrete!!
The finished product!
If my womb is still occupied this Sunday we (umm, Jeremiah) will prepare the soil and hopefully lay some sod! Then we can start putting in the garden. Last year we didn't plant until JUNE and with this crazy four corners weather I think that may be a good plan. I'm content to wait, that's for sure!
How is everyone else's garden going??

39 weeks!

I like going into labor on Friday mornings. Just throwing it out there. My chores are usually done (does anyone else like to have everything done by the weekend?), fridge stocked, sheets clean (another thing I really like to have done before I go into labor, I'm weird, I know), and this morning I have a cake in the oven and I'm getting ready to make a couple of loaves of bread. I'm just saying, today would be an okay day to have a baby! AND today is Jeremiah's grandma's birthday, and her name was... SARAH! How much more perfect could it be?
In other news, Jeremiah has decided to build our fence and save us some moolah - turns out hiring someone to do it was MUCH more expensive than we anticipated. It should be done next weekend. AND our wonderful buddies, the Paxson's, are coming for a visit next Thursday if the little miss hasn't made her arrival by then. So many reasons to hope today is the day and so many reasons to wait! Good thing I have no control over the situation, anyway!
Happy weekend!

Maternity Pictures!!

The wonderful and talented Brittany Mirabal took some family pictures for us last weekend. Many of you Facebook folks have seen some of these, but for those who haven't, here ya go! She did such a wonderful job! Thank you, Brittany!!

We are waiting on you, little Sarah! Come as soon as you're ready!!

Hayes School of Hebrew

I just can't get this picture to come out right!
Oh well :)

My husband is a smarty pants. Really. He's one smart cookie. Soo.. last night he decided it would be fun to start teaching me Hebrew. I was game. Anything involving spending more time with my husband sounds good to me. I mean, I really like the guy. He's smart, handsome, funny, a wonderful dad.. and did I mention he's handsome? Because he is. So anyway.. we started with the first ten letters and I will be learning them in blocks of five until I have them all memorized and can write them.. then my teacher will tell me what to do next!
In the midst of all this rote memorization, my sweet hubs has been teaching me a thing or two and it is so interesting I though I'd let you all know about it. Really, whoever came up with this language is pretty spectacular!
So, did you know that every letter has a tone, as in it can be sung? And a numerical value? So get this, the 4th letter I learned, the dalet, has the numerical value of four. And in ancient, pictorial Hebrew the dalet symbolized a door. WELL, Yeshua came on the scene at around year 4000 on the Hebraic calendar AND he is also the door to the Father. Isn't that just amazing?? All that embedded in a language for Pete's sake! I can't wait to keep learning! As he teaches me more I will pass on the insights!

He's walking! And other news.

He's walking!
He is getting braver by the day! He just decided he was ready and started going for it. When he falls he claps for himself and says "Yay!!" It's pretty adorable. (Please forgive the squeaky mommy voice.)
In other news...
I'm now 38 weeks pregnant! I went to the midwife today and I'm at 1cm and starting to efface. One. Uno. As in only one, 9 to go. Nine! Amy (midwife) told me that I could go into labor today or still be pregnant in a few weeks. That just drives me batty. I think I need a new hobby :)
Speaking of hobbies...
Here are my little sprouts. I started the tomato plants and all the seeds for the salsa garden.
The future site of the garden...
I'm just not sure when we can get started! I don't want to plant before the fence goes up.. but when can we afford the fence? Sigh, we shall see and perhaps the garden will have to wait a year. I'll keep you posted!

Diaper shower!

What a weekend around here! Not only did Cris come up for a visit, but Bonnie and Brittany threw me a wonderful diaper shower!
Thank you ladies! I had a blast!
Brittany hand made each cupcake holder! Too cute!
Moses eating a cupcake and guarding his sister's stuff...
Oh my word. I am sucker for anything resembling a tutu. I cannot wait to get this on the little lady!
What is going on here?
Look! Look! 20 cloth diapers ready to go! Man, adjusting these little suckers to fit a newborn was no small feat. Thankfully Kat and Cris did most, okay all, of the work!
Alright, little Sarah, we're just waiting on you! Feel free to come any day now!

The hair.

About Mo's hair. Since I've been asked (and even called) about what in the world happened.. here goes!
Wednesday was a DAY. Enough said, right? Well, by the time we got to the hairdresser on Wednesday afternoon Moses had sunscreen and sand embedded in his scalp, mud all over his t-shirt and was a mess in general. AND the kid despises getting his hair cut. Last time I tried to do it myself and it was a disaster so we headed to Master Cuts. Well, I think my sons hysteria was too much for the hairdresser and when we got home I realized what a shoddy job she had done. I thought I could fix it with scissors.. not so much.. so out came the clippers. My mother in law was confident I needed the #2 clippers so I put them on and buzzed right down the middle of Mo's head. Turns out #2 is about a quarter of an inch... not quite what we were going for but at this point we were committed. So.. now his head is buzzed and ready for summer :)

37 weeks and other news.

I saw the midwife today! 37 weeks, no group b strep (PTL), and everything is looking good. She's going to check me next week to see how things are progressing and I just hope all these Braxton Hick's contractions are doing something! Tuesday they were so intense I thought I may be in labor, and I quickly took a bath and went to bed :)
Cheeseball picture of yours truly in a shirt that I should have retired months ago...
And in other news! Moses now has no hair!
Before...
After....
And.. um... my walls are now all patched and we painted them all the WRONG color. Turns out our painting company mislabeled the paint. Well, after we had patched and painted every.single.knick. we realized that the paint wasn't changing as it dried. Lovely, right?
My nesting urges can handle this... as I start twitching...
And just for fun, here is my view most of the time. I sure love this kid!
Happy Thursday!

Your Daily Mo

"So, Mom? All of this cool stuff in this other room is all about me, right?!"
"Uummm.. no."
Playing in Sarah's bouncer..
Once a day Moses makes his way into Sarah's room just to check things out. He loves to take her blankets out of her basket, bounce around in her crib and he loves, loves her bouncer. The vibrate switch, the bird that plays music.. and sometimes he asks for "help" getting in to hang out for a bit. Look at that smile!! I try to explain that his little sister will sleep in the crib, lounge in the bouncer.. but I'm still not thinking he gets it!

Your Daily Mo

Goodness gracious this child is cute!
Moses is growing, growing. He has almost worked up the courage to walk on his own, but he also loves to come over to me and grab my fingers so he can "walk" wherever his little heart desires. He's also trying so hard to talk! Here are some newbies in his vocabulary:
"Uuu!" = Please pick me up!
"Nnnaaa" = Snack
"Boo!" = Peek a boo
"Owww" = Down

He has also started signing "help" and I love it. Instead of whining at me when he wants something he can use this sign. I still have to figure out what he wants, but less whining is always good, right?! Last week he also started shaking his head "no".. a lot. His personality is just too big for his little body :)

So close!

Tomorrow Kat and I are going to have a cooking bonanza! What a wonderful mother in law I have. She is meeting at the store at 7am to shop our hearts out and then we're headed back to my casa to cook 20+ meals. Last time I made 16 and I thought I'd up it this time.. just in case! Have two kids is going to be twice the work, I mean fun, after all!!
Baby Girl's room is done, our bags our packed, we've got the double stroller and as of tomorrow the car seat will be installed and ready to go. All that's left is making these meals and we're set! I can hardly believe it. As of next week I will be full term and then the hard part begins.. the waiting. When I was pregnant with Moses I had in my mind that I would be pregnant for 42 weeks and was able to do the things that keep my mind occupied: exercise, gardening, and sleeping :) This go around I feel sooo much more uncomfortable and am (not so secretly) hoping she comes just a wee bit early! And hey, if she wasn't pushing 9 pounds I wouldn't mind, either!
Next weekend my wonderful friends, Bonnie and Brittany, are throwing me a diaper shower that I'm hoping will round out my stash of cloth diapers and then we just wait! And wait...
